A little bit about me

Hey! My name is Ruby, I'm 19, I live in Salt Lake, and grew up in Alpine UT. I have 4 older sisters, so I'm the baby of the family. I became an aunt when I was 6, and my sister lived with us for a bit with her kids, so I adored having some little “sisters” to love and spoil for a couple years. I've always loved children and babies, even since I was little myself. Babysitting and nannying is my favorite because it's something I truly love to do. I currently work full-time nights at a hospital but my schedule is pretty flexible depending on your family’s needs.

Rate: $18+ (changes depending on number of kids and their ages)

I’m looking for something around 10-15 hours a week if it’s a good fit. I’m also open to different hours as well!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I became an aunt when I was 6, and my sister lived with us for a bit with her kids, so I used to get her daughter out of bed, change her diapers, and make her breakfast. I now have 3 nieces and 1 nephew (he's the little prince of the fam). Not only do I have experience within my family, I passed out flyers around my neighborhood when I was 11 and started babysitting. I’ve also nannied for a few amazing families throughout the years but slowed down as I started college and workin at the hospital! (I have 8 years paid experience with kids/babies).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing board games, Montessori toys, card games, doing crafts, reading books, being outside, and going on adventures!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it’s important that the kids feel safe and loved. A big part of that is communication, and making sure they feel comfortable enough to talk to me. I read an article about nannying, and it said nannies are like an extension of mom… and I think that’s true. Being away from mom and dad is hard but it’s important to still foster that love and comfort.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve taken 2 years of peer tutor in high school, but don't have professional training / experience. I do have some nannying experience with children on the spectrum and children that require a little extra emotional support.
I am also definitely willing to learn how to care for your child with special needs if it’s a good fit!

The most important part about being a nanny...

How could I have a favorite nanny moment? I have enjoyed all of my times nannying! Kids are so positive, so awesome to be with, and all unique in their own way.
