I have spent many years volunteering and working with kids at my church. I am currently an administrative assistant for the Junior High and High School ministry at Northpointe Community Church, as well as an art teacher for kids with special needs. Previously, I worked as a childcare worker for about two years at New Covenant Church. In my free time, I often babysit for friends, primarily caring for early childhood-aged children
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love cooking/baking with kids; baking is one of my favorite pastimes. I also really enjoy any kind of outdoor games or activities like soccer or going on a nature walk. Making crafts is another fun way I like to connect with kids. It's always fun to see their imagination come to life!
My experience with special needs children...
My family also made it a priority that me and my sister were involved with the special needs community. Growing up my family helped coach basketball and floor hockey teams through Sports For Exceptional Athletes. Some of my favorite memories from coaching was getting to sit with the players and learn about their interests and lives. I currently work part-time as an art/theatre teach for Limitless Abilities. I get spend several days a week making crafts with young kids with special needs, and also play theatre games with them!
