More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been at volunteer VBS Leader for 4 years at my church. I also am very involved in the schools and the bible school. My step mom works for three schools in our district and I volunteer and go read a book or share a story, etc. I am a VERY kid friendly person. I have babysat for families since i was 15 unsupervised.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some Indoor activities I love to do with children are coloring, playing with their toys they enjoy, reading, I love doing crafts and just any type of art or like I said coloring, painting, etc. Outdoor; If they have bikes I love doing bike rides or ride their scooters. I’ve taken past kids to a park and they LOVED it, hopscotch, kickball, play tag, hide and seek (to an extent this one runs my anxiety up). If they are younger than definitely stuff to help them learn like maybe educational baby TV and then playing with them and tummy time, or just sitting outside and looking at the trees, letting them touch grass, leaves, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me the most about being a nanny is making sure the kids are happy, fed, and their diapers are okay. As long as the kids are tended to and paid attention to and taken care of to the highest extent there is, and as long as they are getting shown a good role model as well. The way I act or talk or react, they will notice. And again, I think patience and love is just one of the things that will always be important
My experience with special needs children...
My older cousin has special needs and has to stay home because of it. I know how serious it is and how it impacts someone’s life. I will say I have babysat a toddler that had autism. He was three and he did not talk yet. He loved my hair and loved being around me. I did not have an issue at all. I don’t have much more experience other than I was in big sister big brother club at my school, and I would help the special needs class and I’d go in there and hang out with them and be friends with them or do a activity. I am an extremely patient person.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite babysitting moments is either bath time because they absolutely LOVE bubbles, even if they hate the idea of a bath, somehow if you turn into a cool bubble astronaut spaceship it becomes the coolest thing ever! I also used to go on golfcart rides and they adored it. I love the giddy moments where they just giggle and giggle and think you are sooo funny.
