A little bit about me

Hey there! I am 22, I have worked at a childcare center for about 6 months, and Im looking for a job for when my contract ends in January! I am trained from a Reggio Emilio approach, and I currently take care of 8 infants ages 4 months through 13 months. They are my whole life and I love them so much! It will be sad to leave them, but I unfortunately need to choose myself and grow financially and emotionally! I l have experience as a swim school supervisor, lifeguard, and teacher. I am spinal rescue certified, as well as CPR and First Aid. I am willing to negotiate my hourly rate depending on different offers. I have a car, and it is reliable for transportation, but it would not be realistic to transport children. It is older, and it is one of the things I am trying to save for. Further on that topic, I would love to be as transparent as I can. I will be going back to university to finish my degree in Spring 2027. That being said, my job comes first. I will work around you. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked at a private childcare facility for about 6 months right now. I am in a year long contract, and before that I worked as a supervisor for 4 years at a children swim school. I have trained under the reggio emilio approach, and I fully agree. School should be about letting life be the child’s teacher! We guide them to have experiences with the world and understand how to approach different situations. Letting their interests be our guide to knowing how to help them grow! I also trained under the science of swim play approach. Allowing a child to learn through guided play.

My experience with childcare has taught me that children are exceptionally smart, and they already know what they need. We just need to be there to support them in their journey.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities can include arts and crafts, learning how to rip and crumple, coloring with different media, learning about dot paint! Mosaics and random objects for older children. Other activities can include music, floor time with songs or games, story time, or tummy time for the babies! Different Indoor activities can even include shadow play or dance parties!! Outdoor play usually consists of nature walks and sports outside. Or aquarium/zoo trips if the parents want! I love to include chalk, or imaginary play outside with nature. Sometimes even bringing that inside to use for our indoor crafts! There’s so much to use around us!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing support to the parents as well as the child. I’m here for everyone, and that includes mom time at the spa, or grocery trips here and there. Whatever you guys need to function as a family.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have much! I have no professional experience, but when I worked at the swim center I did have some special needs children. I was always very good with them, and I have confidence I could be a good guardian if I was taught how to provide the best support. I would just need specific education that works to the family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have a favorite moment, which is when I took my kiddos to the pool. We played mermaids and slid down the slide. We even had a little swim lesson moment, but that didn’t last for long.
