A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Saige, but those who know me often call me Gee. I have been a nanny for around 6 years, and have been babysitting since even before then. I have an AA degree in Child Development, and am currently a nursing student. My classes are online however, which allows me to have more flexibility in hours for my employment. I am very friendly, active, and have been fortunate enough to work with kids across all ages at this point in my nanny career. I have been so blessed by finding great families that I feel respected, and loved in. I love working with children, and plan to do so even after I have finished my nursing schooling. I love animals, but am unfortunately allergic to cats. I have experience with: soccer, horseback riding, swimming, meal prep, light housekeeping pertaining to the children, nap time, and planning activities. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

It really depends on the age range I am working with when it comes to what activities I enjoy doing while with children. If I am working with a baby, I enjoy helping the child with tummy time or sitting outside in the shade with a blanket on a nice day. If I am with a toddler, I enjoy taking them outside to push them in a wagon, go on the gymnasium, read books, do crafts, or watch a movie a week together. If I am with an older child, I enjoy going to a park or spending time outdoors, helping with homework and studies, playing boardgames, riding bikes and letting the child bring up what they like to do for leisure activities as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have been so fortunate to form amazing relationships and connections for the children I have cared for. Not only with the children, but with the parents as well. I have been able to watch children blossom into who they are, grow from babies into toddlers and be alongside them for special parts of life. I also love working with children and haven't thought about doing otherwise ever since I started. The most important part about being a nanny is definitely the relationships and love that form when caring for children.

My experience with special needs children...

The 6 year old boy that I cared for with the Williams family. He was high functioning autistic, and I learned how to care for him as any other child. I took care of him on weekends as needed and four days a week when I picked him up from school.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has been from a baby girl I watched for around 2 years since she was 5 months old. Watching her grow was so rewarding, and learning her personality as she grew was so beautiful. I absolutely loved going to work, so much so that all of a sudden it didn't feel like work anymore, I just knew I was excited to see how she was doing! We went on walks, ate meals together, watched movies, played with her toys and read books together. I also put her down for naps and bedtime as needed.
