Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started off as a nanny for 3 children. One having CP and the other 2 were under 5 years old. I work with children who have autism doing ABA therapy and have done that for the past 7 years. I moved to Sacramento and continued working with children when I had availability to babysit. Moving back to my hometown has brought me back to do date nights for my original nanny family once a week.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going for walks with the children I work with and playing outdoor sports with them as well! As of indoor activities I enjoy playing with play dough, coloring, and any crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The important part of being a nanny is caring for the children and making sure the time is enjoyable for the both of us. I love when the children are happy to see me comeback to hangout again while parents get to enjoy their free time. Lastly, ensuring the children feel comfortable and safe while their parents aren’t there.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with special needs for 5 years. I have experience with autism and cerebral palsy. I have worked with children the age of 3 - 25 and enjoy all ages. While working for children who have autism I did ABA therapy mostly then started babysitting. For the children I worked with who have cerebral palsy I have been a nanny and caregiver.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I enjoy the little “traditions” we make over time, like knuckles and high fives before bed or rest and just seeing them grow into their own characters.
