You get to not only influence , but impact the attitudes, behaviors and atmosphere of the children. The ability to improve or guide the development of a young child can offer a fulfilling feeling and sense of importance, not only to the children but to me also.

My experience with special needs children...

Its been a rewarding experience that has deepened my understanding of empathy, patience, and creativity. I volunteered at a local organization that provided support for children with various developmental disabilities. My role involved assisting in therapeutic activities tailored to each child's unique needs, such as sensory play and adaptive sports. I learned to communicate effectively with non-verbal children using visual aids and sign language. One memorable experience was helping a child with autism develop social skills through structured play. Witnessing their progress and newfound confidence was incredibly fulfilling. This work has not only enhanced my ability to adapt to diverse situations but has also reinforced my belief in the potential of every child, regardless of their challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One afternoon, while babysitting a set of twins I decided to get creative and set up a mini cooking class in the kitchen. With aprons on and chef hats made from paper plates, we were ready to whip up some cookies! Lily, not to be outdone, grabbed a bag of chocolate chips and started tossing them in the air like confetti, shouting, “Choco party!” Suddenly, the kitchen looked like a baking war zone, with flour clouds and chocolate rain. In the middle of the chaos, I tried to regain control and said, “Okay, flour monster and choco party planner, let’s focus on making cookies!” But as I turned around to grab the baking sheet, I heard a loud “plop.” I turned to see Max had accidentally dropped the entire bowl of cookie dough on the floor.k Looking at the gooey mess, The twins giggled uncontrollably, and we all ended up sitting in the middle of the kitchen, covered in flour and laughter, creating a new recipe: “Oopsie Dough Cookies.”
