A little bit about me

I’m 20, but I’ve had years of experience babysitting and nannying for families with tons of kiddos! I love Jesus and have a huge heart for children and the ministry that comes with caring for them. I was a teacher at a Christian afterschool program for a year and a half and was trained to teach kids and help them develop reading and math skills, but also how to tell them about Jesus and who He is! I have experience working with all ages including infants and toddlers to middle-schoolers!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Last October, I went to Capetown, South Africa to help run a VBS program for the children in the two communities we worked in. While I was there I taught lessons, sang and danced to fun songs, prepared and served meals to the kids every day, and did tons of crafts with the kids. The program totaled at about +300 kids, across 3 different classes a day for a week. It was a lot of work, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was approved to go on the trip in the first place because of my experience and became a vital team member over the course of the trip. It was an absolute blast and I can’t wait to go again if I can!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Sing and dancing. I also really enjoy reading and telling stories and coloring! Super fun for me and the kiddos!

The most important part about being a nanny...

1) Safety and 2) Having fun with the kiddos. Both are absolutely vital to being a successful child care worker!

My experience with special needs children...

Not a whole lot of one on one, but while I was a teacher, I had a student who was nonverbal autistic. Our program couldn’t really accommodate for him, because he got overwhelmed very easily and with lots of field trips and loud events it was hard for him, and he ended up leaving the program midway through, but I loved drawing with him and going on walks with him and his headphones to help him calm down. His mom was very kind and I got to know her well too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Going to the park with my precious family, with all the 4 kiddos and playing on the swings and the playground slides. We played some fun games of tag and magical pirate ships and had a blast! I’ve known those kids since they were babies and this is still one of my favorite memories with them!
