I once had a really shy 5 yr old boy come into my daycare school class and I noticed he was having trouble speaking to the other kids and he wasn't comfortable enough to interact with any of the activities we had planned. I made sure to help him get his confidence by bringing him outside of the classroom and setting up a new game that he could play. Once he got comfortable and started enjoying himself, I invited another child to play with him. Once he broke out of his shell, he was able to go inside and play a few of the activities with the other children and we finally got to see him enjoy himself and play!
