A little bit about me

I taught preschool aged children from 0-5 years of age for 17 years before transitioning to being a full time nanny. I have a bachelor of arts degree from California State University at Northridge in child development with a specialty in infants and toddlers. I am CPR certified by the American Heart Association. I am very passionate about my field and I attend continuing education conferences yearly to continue to be current in the field. I have worked with every preschool age group, but my passion remains with infants, toddlers and twos. I love to sing, read, play, paint, and do messy art/sensory activities with children even the little ones. One of my biggest assets is the ability to be very flexible and extremely patient. I feel flexibility and patience are key when working with little ones because no two days are the same and you need to be able to adjust on the fly sometimes.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love painting, sensory activities, impromptu dance parties, reading time (especially outside on a blanket) at home. I also love going to library times, museums, zoos, and music classes out and about.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Trust between the parents and nanny and between the nanny and child are to me the most important parts of being a nanny. It takes a lot of trust on the part of the parents to give you care over their most precious treasure. The second most important part is safety in all things, however I think these two actually go hand in hand.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment by far as a nanny is when the child you've bonded with lights up when they see you after a short absence. That just melts my heart!

A close second would be when the child has an "ah ha" moment when they make a new discovery or figure out how to do something or how something works.
