Playing board games, going to the park, baking cookies, doing arts and crafts, reading stories, having a picnic, going on nature walks, playing tag or hide-and-seek, going to the zoo, visiting a local museum, watching movies or cartoons, going swimming, playing sports or outdoor games, having a dance party, doing science experiments or simple DIY projects, having a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt.

To prove to the child they are safe and loved in my care, I will prioritize their well-being and create a nurturing environment for them. I will establish a routine that includes activities they enjoy, provide healthy meals, and ensure their physical safety at all times. Additionally, I will actively listen to them, show empathy, and provide comfort when needed. Building a strong bond with the child through positive interactions and affection will further reinforce their sense of safety and love in my care.

My experience with special needs children...

Based on my experience with children with microcephaly, autism, ADD/ADHD, and Down syndrome over the past 30+ years, I have gained extensive knowledge and understanding of these conditions. I have worked closely with children with microcephaly, providing them with specialized care and support. Additionally, I have actively engaged with children with autism, implementing various strategies and interventions to promote their development and social skills. In my experience with children with ADD/ADHD, I have utilized behavioral management techniques and educational interventions to help them thrive academically and socially. Lastly, I have worked with children with Down syndrome, focusing on their individual strengths and providing them with tailored interventions to enhance their overall quality of life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was teaching a child to drink from a straw. The excitement on their face when they finally got it was priceless. However, their excitement got the better of them and they ended up spitting the drink in my face. We both burst into laughter afterwards.
