A little bit about me

I'm a retired Registered Nurse, mother of three, boys, and grandmother to a 12 months old boy, and 18 months girl. I do not have current certification in CPR or first aid, it expired last year, but I have previously been certified in both advanced adult and pediatric life saving. I am willing to get recertifications in CPR and first aid. I love playing with children, and I feel most everything can be a teachable moment in education or safety. I enjoy reading to children, playing games with them , watching animated movies, I feel it's important for children to get outside if possible. My hours are flexible, but only occasional weekends. I like to spend those with my grandchildren.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 2 grandchildren. I keep my nephew's 2 year old twins and 5 year old occasionally. I also have many other great nieces and nephews. I have volunteered in the nursery at church on many occasions. In nursing I have worked in neonatal and pediatric units.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, playing with their toys, drawing, coloring, and making crafts. I also enjoy playing board games, animated movies. listening to music and getting outside for a stroll or play.

My experience with special needs children...

Being a RN I have worked with many people with special needs. I was certified to be a Habiltation tech with Bayada to work with my niece who has Downs Syndrome. I have a nephew who has CP and Muscular Dystrophy who has been in a wheelchair his whole life and has limited verbal communication.I have another nephew who is Autistic.
