My name is Sarah Rodriguez. I’m 19. I have started my second year in college at Rio Hondo College. My major is nursing, however, I am contemplating in becoming a Child Development major. I have no work experience, HOWEVER, I take care of my 5 year old and 2 year old nephews all the time. I love children and what their growing minds come up with. I may not have work experience but I do have some child care life experience and I am eager to help out parents who are in need of a loving, caring babysitter/nanny. Some activities I enjoy doing with kids are taking them to the local park, drawing, coloring, playing tag/hide and seek, learning activities with shapes, numbers and the alphabet (If needed for online school due to Covid-19).

My experience with special needs children...

At my high school Alma Mater, Santa Fe High School, I was apart of a club called “Chieftain Friends.” It was a club where we had lunch with special needs kids every Thursday. I would hang out with them, play games with them and make crafts wit them. During the Hollidays, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, we would have special parties for them, while listening to music and having dance parties. It was a real joy being apart of this!
