Activities I enjoy doing with children...
🎨 I'm the queen of arts and crafts and make believe!
🌼 Any and all things outdoors is something I love
🕺 A little dancing and music is always fun!
🧪 I've got a few science experiments and elaborate games in my back pocket for rainy days
📚 The nerd in me is always down to be a homework helper

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being not just a sitter, but a support system.
My experience with special needs children...
At the art therapy camp (at CREATE Arts Center) I worked with school age kids with mild to moderate emotional, behavioral, or developmental differences. Many campers had diagnosis for autism, adhd, anxiety and some mood disorders.
I fervently believe in valuing the dignity, worth, and beautiful individuality of every person.
It has been true for all the kids I have worked with, regardless of the setting, that they thrive when treated as competent individuals facing a challenge and inversely struggle to problem-solve or engage in activities when adults or peers approach them with an assumption of incompetence. This philosophy is central to my care taking style, and I am always seeking and willing to further educate myself on the differences and challenges unique to your kid (including the unique strengths).

when I successfully turned a 3 yr olds bad "big feelings" day around with her favorite story time voices and some upside down sunglasses :)
