Hi! I'm Sariena, and I enjoy taking care of those in need. I have a sum of 3 years of caregiving experience for individuals who are either on the autistic spectrum, or have one or more intellectual disabilities. I also worked 1.4 years of child care experience. I have worked with individuals at the age of 0-70+ years, so I can adapt really well to almost all ages. I enjoy cleaning, and cooking as well as coming up with fun, interactive activities. But, I don't enjoy these things as much as I enjoy spending time with the youth. It truly fulfills me knowing that I am providing care that your children are in need of, and that I am keeping them safe until your return.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician for a total of 1.4 years where I helped teach children at ages of 2-14 years old fine motor skills, linguistics, and also assisted them with their meals.

I have 1.4 years of experience with caring for special needs children. I also have 3 years of experience with caring for special needs individuals with ages ranging between 17 years old to 70+ years old.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the many favorite moments I had while nannying was when a child I was caring for had become emotionally unregulated. They were crying uncontrollably and it seemed the longer they were upset, the louder their screams got. Instead of jumping in immediately to "fix it", I got down on their level and calming talked them through their emotions while prompting them to "blow out the candles" as a gentler way of encouraging them to engage in box-breathing techniques. I first modeled the expectation to "blow out the candles" by blowing on the tip of my forefinger. This immediately made the child laugh and they grabbed my hand to "blow out the candle" too. From that moment on, every time they would get upset, overwhelmed, or overstimulated to the point to where they were about to cry they would either run up to me to "blow out the candles" or they would respond enthusiastically when I prompted them blow them out.
