Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience babysitting for local families in my neighborhood, as well as working with younger children through cheerleading and helping coach younger teams. I also occasionally intern in an X-ray setting, where I’ve had the opportunity to interact with children who may be nervous or scared about getting an X-ray. I’ve learned how important it is to build a trusting relationship with a child, communicate with them calmly, and help them feel safe and comfortable during an unfamiliar or scary situation. These experiences have taught me patience, responsibility, communication, and how to connect with children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy activities that keep children active, creative, and engaged! I love playing outside, going for walks, doing arts and crafts, playing games, helping with homework, and finding activities based on their interests. I also enjoy simply talking with children and getting to know their personalities so they feel comfortable and involved.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is making sure the child feels safe, comfortable, respected, and cared for. Building trust with both the child and their family is really important to me. I also believe communication with parents is key, especially when it comes to routines, schedules, expectations, and anything that may come up while they’re away. I want parents to feel confident knowing their children are in good hands and that I genuinely care about their well-being.
My experience with special needs children...
I have previously nannied for children with special needs, which has given me experience understanding that every child has their own individual needs, routines, and ways of communicating. I’ve also had the opportunity to help my mom with her special-needs bus runs, as she is a school bus driver. Through these experiences, I’ve learned the importance of being patient, understanding, attentive, and flexible. I really enjoy building trust with children and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and supported.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite babysitting moments is when a child and I start off just getting to know each other, and by the end of the time together, they’re completely comfortable with me. I love when we can spend the day playing games, doing crafts, or watching a movie, and they’re having so much fun that they don’t want me to leave. Those little moments make me feel like I’ve built a genuine connection and that the child feels safe and happy with me.
