A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Savanna Farnsworth. I began working in childcare at age 8 when I began assisting in the 1-3 year olds nursery at my church. At age 10, I began babysitting a wonderful family of 3. Since then, I have cared for children as young as 2 months old, and as old as 14 years old. I am heavily experienced in working with children with mental and physical special needs, and would never charge more for a kiddo who simply needs a different approach to things! 4 years ago, I got a job as a swim instructor where I taught swim for students 2 months-13 years, as well as adults. Through this job, I became CPR, AED, Lifeguard, and FirstAID certified. I am comfortable cleaning, cooking, caring for pets, driving (when supplied with carseats) and running errands when necessary. If you think I would be a good fit for you and your family, I kindly invite you to reach out. I am looking forward to connecting!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

12+ years of babysitting/nanny experience, 3+ years of swim coach experience, 3 years (seasonally) day camp counselor experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Obviously, I love swimming! If you have access to a community pool, I would love to take your kiddos. I love park hopping, the beach, arts and crafts, baking, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is providing the kiddos with a trusted adult that they feel comfortable, safe, and confident with. I want to be respected as an authority and make sure household rules are adhered to, but I also want them to know that when nanny Sav comes to visit, it will always be a fun time. I heavily value finding the perfect balance between keeping things in order and fostering happy, healthy memories.

My experience with special needs children...

At age 8, I was introduced to a kiddo with Down syndrome through my church's nursery. I absolutely fell in love with him, and later went on to babysit him and his 2 brothers for a few years. Since, I have worked with another young girl with Down syndrome, and have also worked with a child with autism. I don't see kids with special needs as a challenge, but rather as a way to figure out an approach that clicks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love prepping things on my own time to bring to my kids that spark joy. For example, one Christmas season I made cookies and icing and brought them to my family with sprinkles. They were ecstatic! I taught them about color theory and we dyed the icing together. Such a great memory, and the kids still mention it to this day!
