I was a nanny my senior year of high school for a 9 ear old girl and a 7 yer old boy. My sophomore year college [phone number hidden]) I cared for a 1 year old boy and a 3 year old girl a few times a week. I have been a volunteer and teachers aid in classrooms since I was old enough to arrange transportation for my self. I have been a frequently used neighborhood sitter in my home town since I was 12 until presently.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love making mundane tasks such as going for a drive, to the store or even to the park a fun adventure! I enjoy reading, with or to the children does not matter to me! Encouraging good behavior and good attitudes. Making the the brief separation from Mom/Dad as easy and stress free as possible. Arts and crafts and outside games I love as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids feel heard as well as taken care of. Mutual respect and having fun while also being productive!
My experience with special needs children...
While my experience with special needs was brief, I was able to learn a lot of valuable tools. Familiarity with children with diabetes and learning disabilities. My younger sister struggled with both of these and was able to witness and take notes on how things should be handled. However, every cild is different but I am a quick and eager learner!
The most important part about being a nanny...
It is hard to choose just one but the friendship I have created with all of the kiddos I have had the pleasure to look after is most definitely my favorite!
