More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up babysitting my younger cousins which turned into years of nannying for various families and then teaching a class of 2 year olds. I worked as a receptionist at Carlisle Vision care in [phone number hidden] and eventually assisted in vision therapy where a lot of kids came through needing help with their eyes which turned into helping their confidence as well. This brought me so much joy! The only reason I stopped assisting with that is because I packed up and traveled to San Juan island, WA for a seasonal job.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, writing, crafting, lots of outdoor play and aiding them in anything else they’re interested in. Each child is unique and deserves investment into what they’re curious about
The most important part about being a nanny...
All of it. These are kids we’re talking about… they’re sponges! Soaking up each move we make, each emotion we let them see and every word we speak. So I’d say being mindful is the most important.
My experience with special needs children...
In my class of 2 year olds we had several special needs children. Mostly some who struggled to focus/stay calm which acquired patience and one on one.
While nannying for a family of 5, the eldest son (12) was autistic and this simply required remembering his routine, adjusting my mood to attend to his and making sure things were organized the way he understood best.

The most important part about being a nanny...
This is a difficult question because there is an abundance of goofy and joyful moments I can remember but I’d say forming true bonds with some children.
A 2 sweet year old boy named Austin struggled with a lot of anxiety and trusting others but once he trusted me it was just so rewarding for the both of us. Giving a child a safe space is unbeatable. He was able to come and go from class trusting that I’d be there, do all normal activities fully because he knew I’d support him and be around! Maybe a small glimpse in his life but I like to believe relationships like that can set us up for success in our future.
