Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve cared for my nieces/nephews, family friends’ children, and any other family who were in need of a short or long term nanny. The longest was 3 days at a time (overnight as well). Which included cleaning, bathing, cooking, getting them prepped and ready for bed, helping with school work, helping with any medicine if they are ill, and getting some energy out by playing games.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do the simple things, have the chance to let them have some fun without electronics. Playing with dolls/action figures, tag, hide and seek, i enjoy playing games which gives them a reward system “if you go put your toys away we can ____” which seems to help them a lot with small chores they can do to help out the parents, i love creativity- and seeing what kids can come up with is just fascinating to me so I love getting some markers and just coloring or making a card for their parents, and typically any game they enjoy I’ll always give it a shot if it is safe.

Making sure you have a connection with the children you’re caring for is the most important part. You want them to be happy to know you’re coming, they should enjoy having you there and trust that you’re just there to take care of them. Their happiness is my main concern.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment, was about three weeks ago. I was babysitting my 3 year old and 7 year old nieces. The oldest is a sweet heart, but the 3 year old is a little monster sometimes. She gets mood swings which can be hard to handle, she has attachment problems and will get cranky without parents. My favorite moment was when I told the three year old to go get the pjs the wants for bed. She came back running to me, giggling, holding a pj gown and had (clean) panties on her head.
