A little bit about me

Hello my name is Savannah Leos and I believe it us up to the people to look after and teach our children to dream and to believe in doing good. I work extremely well with children of different demographics. I have a niece that is five and two nephews ages 2 and 3. I adore them very much. I enjoy playing them classical music while we paint. When my nephew gets upset with his siblings I teach him how to breathe and how to better approach the situation. I am two classes short of receiving my associates. I am thinking about continuing my education in childhood development. I am very professional and am always aware. With the world we live in it is important that we are aware of our surroundings. I am very protective. I have volunteered with local families and really have gained this unconditional love for the children in really difficult situations. I have worked with children with trauma and disabilities. I have also worked in a group home.

I have looked after my niece and nephews and have worked in a group home. I have also assisted a first grade teacher at an alternative school so I do know how to work with children who may have had unfortunate home circumstances.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is truly caring for the children. This includes wanting to teach the children all the important things in life that are age appropriate. It is extremely important to be aware and inventive. I am very protective and would give my life to protect a child from harm. One of the most important things is to let children be kids and to be understanding and loving.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a teen boy who has down syndrome. He was very sweet and I understood his struggles. He is the eldest and has three younger brothers who he felt were different. I never excluded him and made sure his brothers looked after him as well. These boys came from a broken home with a mother and father absence. I would take the kids to the park, library, Del-mar to play on the piano. I wanted to show the kids a different way of life and I am so thankful that they are in a new home.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It was a wonderful moment to see children that hadn't been in a peaceful home and in a clean environment to feel safe in my home. The brothers took turns playing mine craft on my laptop. They watched dinosaur documentaries on Youtube. My girlfriend cooked lovely meals where the children were so thankful. I enjoyed seeing the kids smile after I had got them each a watch, clothes and shoes. I enjoyed seeing them be kids because when they were at their house they could not be kids.
