A little bit about me

My name is Seanna Daparteira, and I'm an 18-year-old rising Sophomore at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville! I'm a Political Science major with a focus in Pre-Law Studies and an additional minor in Latin! I'm originally from the Argyle area and lived in the DFW region for majority of my life. Since my mother was a Pre-School teacher, I was raised in an environment where I was constantly caring for children. Majority of my summers were spent aiding her and her co-workers at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Southlake, Texas. The children's ages ranged anywhere from 5 months to 11-years-old, which allowed my skillset to be immensely diverse and easily malleable to whatever age group needed assistance. This experience was able to be refined throughout my teenage years as I began babysitting professionally. As I come back to Texas for the summer, I truly hope to be blessed with the opportunity to assist a family in need of extra assistance!

I've worked the past three years as a Youth Group Leader at Milestone Church in Keller, Texas. I tailored my skillset to focus predominantly on 4th and 5th grade students, but I'm able to adapt to any setting due to my prior experience at Trinity Private Preschool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I honestly am super adaptable and up for anything and everything! I love doing arts and crafts with kids, playing board games, playing outside, watching movies, and just getting to know them as individuals!

The most important part about being a nanny...

As an 18-year-old rising Sophomore at the University of Tennessee, I truly believe that I should spend the summer in Texas going back to not only the roots of my family, but of working with children. As adults, we tend to get caught up in the go-go-go lifestyle, and forget to sit down and acknowledge the blessings in our lives. Kids have always been truly amazing reminders of how the simple things in life are what matters most. Moreover, despite my career aspirations revolving around being a Lawyer, my true dream is to become a mother. Cultivating an environment where a child feels safe, comfortable, and can express themselves is the most rewarding aspect of life and should never be considered a background thought.

My experience with special needs children...

Approximately five years ago, my sister and I worked with children with Autism and Downs Syndrome. This was truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life as I was able to witness the pure joy and bliss that resonates off of this demographic. Despite their being more "challenges", the fruit of witnessing their growth and appreciation of life is something that I hold dear to me every single day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is pretty cliche but occurred when a 10-year-old girl that I was caring for ran up to me, wrapped me in a big hug, and told me that I was her best friend. No number of words can truly depict how heartwarming this interaction was for me. Every friendship that I form with the younger generations are authentic, and it's whimsical witnessing them blossom.
