I have successfully written and implemented engaging plans that foster creativity while seamlessly integrating learning objectives into playful activities. My approach is tailored to meet a child's individual needs and goals, allowing me to instinctively recognize and address their requirements—whether it be boredom, hunger, or the need for rest. The most important part about being a nanny...
One important part of my work with children is to “.meet them where they’re at”. Whether they have speech and hearing challenges, troubles with social skills, learning delays or food aversions, i take notice of their struggles and partner with parents to create small goals to help them progress.
Likewise i notice kiddos individual strengths, talents and passion. I enjoy helping children reach for the next developmental stage.
Children develop at different rates and deserve positive instruction when mastering a new objective.
If a child cant learn the way Im teaching, then i teach the way they learn.
It warms my heart to help a child learn a new skill and celebrate their mastery.

I have a proven ability to adapt teaching methods and activities to meet diverse needs, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment. I collaborate with families, educators, and therapists to promote holistic development and well-being for foster children and those facing various challenges. I am committed to advocating for the rights and needs of all children, fostering their self-esteem and independence through patience, empathy, and innovative approaches.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was a nanny for 2 little guys with minimal language skill. They started to copy some of the phrases i said regularly. One repeated phrase was “oh goodness”. To my surprise, they said this at appropriate times. They would knock over their blocks and say “oh goodness”. When they dropped their drink, they would say “oh goodness”. Quite funny.
We were working on potty training. One little guy was struggling. One day he had a poop accident in his undies. It was quite the surprise when pulling his pants down to go potty. He immediately looked down at his undies and says “oh goodness”. So funny
Another fun memory was when a kiddo was running an obstacle course that had jumps. My role was to time her. Often she wanted me to run & jump with her. I would remind her “i have old lady bones”. One afternoon she was strongly trying to convince me to run & jump with her. I said i would try, but if i fell, would she get me to an ER? She immediately replied “no. You’ll be euthanized”. Hilarious!

Part-Time Nanny Available in Gig Harbor, WA: Sophia J.
I’m an energetic sitter with a passion for caring for kids. I worked as a swim instructor for three years and with some hard work, moved up to team manager during my time there. The most rewarding thing for me was watching the kids thrive in my classes all while having a safe and fun time. I’ve been babysitting since I was 13 years old, starting with cousins and nephews. Once I started working at 16, I started babysitting for several children I’ve taught swimming lessons to. My goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for your kiddos, and making sure they’re having a good time while learning!
