More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have grown up babysitting and teaching small children how to swim at the YMCA. I was a competitive swimmer and can rescue up to a 120lb person from the water. I also did lots of tutoring and nannying as an adult. The largest family I cared for was 4 boys under 8 and they were chaotic but an absolute delight. I am always up for a challenge

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

All indoor and outdoor activities are enjoyable to me, but my ability to do them well is not important ;)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a safe, comfortable, and reliable environment for a child. That should be the number one part of being any type of caregiver.

My experience with special needs children...

Although I have not personally taken care of children with special needs, I am well-versed in all child development types and what is specific to the child's needs. I am always eager to learn and the only way to do that is jump in feet first. I hope to find a family that allows me to learn and grow and develop my skills as a caregiver.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moment from being a nanny was back in January of 2023. I had started to nanny for 4 boys ranging from ages 5-10 and they were a handful after school. They would burst into the car with full energy and excitement for sports, and need snacks and water and all of their supplies. One day, they decided to have Go Gurt before practice and when I was filling up with gas, they decided to have a fight with the yogurt sticks, resulting in a yogurt disaster inside my vehicle. Yes, it was difficult to clean up, and yes, they were disciplined, but I was able to learn that in some instances you cannot stop what you're doing to discipline or clean up - instead you have to continue your mom duties and get the kids ready and on the field for practice. It's difficult to compartmentalize your emotions when it comes to children, but that experience taught me that, at times, it's extremely necessary.
