A little bit about me

Hello-I recently moved back home to Twin, & I am so happy to be back home. For the past 11 years I have lived in Colorado, where I was an assistant Preschool teacher for 3 years, a nanny to one family for 8 years, & the past two years I have had my own business cleaning homes. And while I was extremely grateful for my cleaning clients these last couple of years, I have really missed being with children. Just a big kid in masquerade, kiddos are my heart. Time spent with them is enjoyed through outside adventures, science experiments, and crafts. I am passionate about assisting them with their education: from color and shape identification to number and letter sense and formation, onto mathematical equations and reading.
I am currently on track to take a CNA course at CSI come Oct. The class runs Tues., Wed., Thurs. from 9-2. On these days I would not be available until after 2:30. Mon. & Fri. I am open to times. I have a big heart and sweet spirit, and I appreciate your consideration.

Before being a nanny, I was an assistant preschool teacher for 4 years total and a preschool teacher for one year.
In addition to, I worked with 4 autistic children in a group home setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outside: parks, water fun, digging in the dirt, fishing, catching grasshoppers,...experiencing with them the wonders of our world. I love holiday fun and making crafts; painting, science experiments, and story time. As well, I enjoy learning new things, and I am open to what gives the individual kiddos their joy.

My experience with special needs children...

In my young adult life, I worked in a group home setting with autistic children. It was in this environment we taught life skills, ranging from personal hygiene to easy meal prep.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, the eldest took an interest in fishing at age 3, & at the time I would simply tie a string to a stick, using a paper clip for a hook. Two years later, for his Birthday, he receives a pole; along with the pole, his folks allow him to pick out lures. At age 5, you can imagine what he picks out: treble hooks, 2 sets to one lure (ay yī yī). First day out fishing with the new pole, & I am berating myself for not watching a YouTube video on how to remove a hook from the mouth of a fish. We were all so excited with that first, unexpected tug on his line 😆. And so here it was, my big moment, and I hook myself. In effort to remove the first set of hooks, I jerked and the second set of hooks flip up and snag me. Comical chaos ensued. I was bleeding everywhere, I’m in a panic because I don’t want the fish to die, & the boys are squealing all around me with delight. In the end, I was grateful for paper towels packed: I pulled the hooks out (and the fish didn’t die. 😊)
