More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been an lead teacher and an assistant teacher for three after school programs. The first program was through Trinity Luther Church in Ashland, Ohio. I was an assistant helper there. And the age ranges were from 5 to 12 years old. The second program was through Akron City Schools. And the last program was through Drama Kids for Greater Akron. I worked in Kent, Ohio as a Drama teacher at temporary locations with grade school aged children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy outdoor activities with children that requirement movement. I love playing board games with children and any activities that are associated with acting and the arts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

keeping the child's safety a priority and being able to bond and form connections with children and the guardians of the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I can think back to a specific time when I had to work with a student with special needs. I have worked with a child in grade school that was hard of hearing (hearing impaired) and he had behavioral difficulties. He worked alongside of a licensed specialist in the classroom and she and I worked together to help make his learning experience as enjoyable as possible while continuing to incorporate the curriculum into his everyday schedule. I provided a space for him to be able to create as freely as he wanted while ensuring he was being taught the same lesson as other students just in an alternative way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have never been a nanny before. However, I am very excited to elevate my knowledge and skills on becoming a better child-care worker/nanny. I do have experience working in childcare with infants and toddlers (4 months - 2 years) at a daycare and I have experience teaching children while also being a full time student at The University of Akron.
