A little bit about me

I am the youngest of 5 siblings but because of that, I’ve had 4 nephews I've been able to help take care of from birth to the age of 5. I’ve also been a nanny for the same family of 3 little girls for 5 years in California until I moved to Utah and became the nanny of 4 boys and a girl. I can do some light housekeeping and am a great cook so I can help with meal prep as well but it will be a little more than my base pay. I’ve always grown up with animals and I LOVE them just as much as I love kids, so if you have any animals then it’s never a problem (: I also have my own car and am willing to drive the kids. I’m very energetic (which comes in handy with kids haha) and easy-going. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In my old church, we held many activities where anyone in the ward could drop off their kids to be watched for free for a designated 4 hours so the parents could have date nights or free time. I've also been a weekend/date night babysitter for many families and often recurring.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking the kids to a park to play on the structure or play tag or whatever other game they like. Of course since COVID is going on, the structure isn't a good idea but playing on the grass is still safe and fun. If you have dogs, I love taking the dog on the walk with me and the kids. I also find it really fun to take them to get ice cream or a little treat they like either on Mondays or Fridays so they can look forward to it. Inside activities I love to engage the kids in would be painting, drawing, strategic or fun board games, or any other of their favorite activities. Baking fun treats and having them help me is especially fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being fun, trustworthy and engaging the kids in activities while also being safe and responsible. Often times kids don't like nannies because they won't play with them or do fun things, are too strict or serious, or are power-hungry and try to be the parents. I know how to have fun with the kids while also keeping the rules of the home. I am not the parent so I will not try to be exactly like their parents, kids can see through that. I prefer to be more like an older sister that keeps them safe and entertained. I feel that helps to build a better connection with the kids and they'll trust me more because of it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little 3 year old I nannyed upon first moving to Utah got mad at me because I wouldn't let her climb the side of the stairs so she angrily rocked on her rocking chair but she looked so cute and funny so I started laughing and then she started laughing hysterically and it was a really funny moment for both of us.
