I was teaching a 3-year-old boy how to ride his bike and he fell and scraped his knee. He then insisted that his leg was broken and I had to carry him AND HIS BIKE all the way up a hill back into the house in the Texas heat and then applied first aid to his very shallow wound. I spent ten minutes listening to him cry directly into my ears about him never being able to walk again. It was quite dreadful in the moment but my favorite part is when he spent weeks telling people I was a “super hero” and that I “healed” his broken leg. I chuckle every time I think of it.
