A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Shelby and I have tons of experience with caring for children. I nanny part time for three kids. I have been a part of this family’s weekly lives for 6 years now and have helped them through the new born phase, toddler and kindergarten ages. I also have three nieces and one nephew. I have a child like imagination, which helps me bond and play with all ages. I am respectful of parents and how they run their households and will conform accordingly. I have experience traveling to and from school, all day babysitting, diaper changing, potty training, shopping and house keeping. I love to play outside with the kids and come up with fun and educational activities. I am known as the “favorite auntie” because I play, dance, sing, and do whatever I can to hear their laughter and see them smile. I am there to make the kids feel seen, heard, understood and to make the parents lives a bit easier. Watching the next generation grow makes the work so rewarding.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing outside and coming up with activities that do not include technology. I love to dance, sing, paint, and play with the children in ways that makes them excited to see me each day! I am always positive and I feel like I have great communication skills with all ages making it easier to find activities best suited for your child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, is incorporating education with play. Making learning exciting! I have been able to find different ways to communicate to children in different age groups that make each individual feel like they’ve been heard and understood. This makes it easier to play, teach, and handle meltdowns. I am very proud of the progress I’ve made with children I have looked after.

My experience with special needs children...

I have close family friends who have children in the spectrum and I get along with all of them swimmingly. I love figuring out the best way to care for each one of them and their specific needs. All children deserve to be seen for exactly who they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’m My favorite nanny moment is when I watched all three children for 8 hours and we were so productive. We read stories, we danced, we painted, we played on the swing set and I was able to get them to help me clean up the play room by making a game out of it. I was able to juggle cleaning, meal prepping, playing and nap time. When their parents got home they exclaimed to them how much fun they had and that they wanted me to come back everyday haha! I felt accomplished, loved and excited to see them again.
