Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked at The BASE Otero for the past year as marketing and events manager, as well as stepping in to be a group leader often and working the front desk. I also volunteer in my church nursery. I have 2 kids of my own, and have many nieces and nephews I have helped raise. I have my BLS certificate, and am first aid certified. I am also currently in school for respiratory therapy, with the goal of working in pediatrics. Being around kids and helping care for them is something I am truly passionate about.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing arts and crafts. I enjoy looking up unique crafts that can be keepsakes for parents and families. This includes looking up random holidays and making a craft and including a learning experience with it, while also respecting wishes of parents and guardians. I also love to get up and be active with kids, based on their age. I will put on an educational song and get the kids up and moving. When the weather is nice, I enjoy being outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is being able to watch the children grow into themselves. Being able to be someone that they look up to, outside of their parents, is truly uplifting.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with non-verbal kids, kids with autism and ADHD. I also have a little experience with visually impaired children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I don't know that I can pick just one. I have several, I have had moments where a child has been so upset, and I got the opportunity to sit and talk through their feelings and watch them go from tears to laughter.
