More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a first grade teacher, I was a volunteer children's pastor, I have led Vacation Bible School, and I have worked in the church nursery. I have watched several children in different capacities. Some full-time, some part-time. I've helped make lunch, do homework, fold laundry, drive kids to and from school and after school activities, do school projects, go to the park, and many other tasks.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing crafts, playing games, going to the park, and really letting them use their imagination and joining in whenever I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I mean, there are obvious answers, like, keep the kids safe, and let them have fun! And those things are, of course, important. But I feel like in all my time spent with kids, I learn. Engaging with the kids and being someone that they can depend on is important and in doing that I often find that I learn more about myself and them than I could have ever imagined.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have a ton of special needs experience, but I have worked with kiddos in different places on the spectrum.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The kids had these toy electric guitars that were awesome but super loud and the baby needed to go down for a nap so I told them that the guitars had to be put away for now. Well, little did I know that they guitars had headphone jacks so they came back down stairs like 5 minutes later and were jamming in the living room with headphones in! It was priceless.
