I spent every weekend for about 7 years doing overnight and weekend childcare for a teaching couple who had weekend bartending/DJ jobs. As their family grew, I went from caring for one toddler to caring for their newborn infant, toddler and elementary school child simultaneously. Shifts were either 16 hours (Friday 6pm - Saturday 10 am, then Saturday 6 pm - Sunday noon), or I went from Friday night until Sunday afternoon (or Monday, if it was a long-holiday weekend for them).
I also raised two children (one son, one daughter) of my own (both are now adults).
