A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Shyann. I don't have much work experience with children, but I grew up with around at least 8 siblings. 6 of them being younger than me. All different ages. My 2 older brothers and I did most of the caring for them, including cooking their meals, bathing them, doing their homework with them, getting them ready for school, making sure they went to bed on time, and cleaning the house; because my father was looking after my step mother who fell fairly ill during our childhood. I was raised to know how to care for myself and other children of all ages, and unique personalities. I can honestly say that I enjoy it enough to work with children in my future, because they are our future, and I believe they all have such interestingly developing minds!! Some of my friends and family members would call me, caring (sometimes overly caring), very motherly, kind, funny, understanding, and curious.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going to the park or doing art. Or even science with art. Such as making paint out of flowers and plants! Or rock painting! I also enjoy more chill activities such as Legos, or board games!

My experience with special needs children...

I have a younger sister that was on the spectrum, and I cared for her through her "diaper age". And I spent most of my time as a kid hanging out with her in classroom and helping out her as well as the other children in the classroom from when she was in kindergarten to second grade, and I was about the age of 9-12 or 13 years old. I loved it. She was like my best friend. It helped that her teacher was very sweet and loved having my help in the classroom.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was an in house nanny for this sweet 9 year old girl a couple years ago, and she loved bed time stories!! I loved that she was always so intrigued with the stories!! That has got to be one of the cutest most memorable moments I have had with my first actual job as a nanny!
