Activities I enjoy doing with children...

If we’re indoors there will be arts and crafts, imaginary play, dance parties, karaoke, physical and educational games that promote developmental growth, and lots of reading. I like to get the kiddos involved in helping with their everyday routines as well, such as cleaning up our messes and making lunch.

I prefer to be outside as much as possible. Neighborhood walks and bike rides, parks, pools, hiking trails, picnics, really anything that allows for fresh air and enrichment. I also enjoy play dates with other Nannies and going on adventures such as the library, museums, the zoo, the aquarium, and educational classes.

The most important part of being a nanny is the impact you have on children and their families even well after services are needed. Providing a safe, nurturing environment and being a consistent role model is crucial.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I traveled with the family to their Florida home for the week. The parents were going out for the night and wouldn’t be home until morning. It was just the child and me in the house so we slept in the same room for safety. She was two and a half at the time. She slept in the crib and I slept in the bed. This was her first time sleeping in a room with someone. She couldn’t stop giggling and thought it was the funniest thing ever. We spent most of the night laughing and talking. It took me back to childhood when I would have sleepovers with friends. It was so special to me.
