My experience with special needs children...
My youngest brother is deaf in one ear and is mentally delayed by 2-3 years. He is currently six but mentally 3 or 4. I practice some sign with him but he’s been learning to speak so I haven’t needed it much but we read often, practice words with cards and other things, and I try to get him to use his talker
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making a small mattress slide down the stairs with another mattress and pillows at the bottom and me catching them if something were to happen. The kids, ages 2-3 and 5-6 played on it for hours and it was adorable.
