A little bit about me

I love working with kids and have been told my entire life it's something I need to do as a profession and I have always had a desire to do just that!
I am a bit of a nerd and always willing to talk superheroes and cartoons. I love music and art and animals! I own two guinea pigs (Little Bob and Bucky Barnes) and a puppy named Scooby Doo, my service dog in training!
Reading and literacy are super important to me and I try to make stories and fostering creativity a priority when working with kiddos! I also make it a priority to help foster kindness and empathy for others, especially in a world with so much hardship.
I personally understand how hard it can be to navigate the world with ADHD and Autism and am grateful for my ability to lend a special perspective to those hardships even though I can also recognize how difficult and hard it is to live with mental illness as well as physical disability.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been babysitting since I was 10 years old, was a daycare teacher for children aged 4 months to 12 years of age for a year, and took 3 semesters of occupational therapy assistance schooling where I planned to become a pediatric OTA until my health got in the way and I unfortunately had to drop out due to my health. Due to this I have experience working with children with behavioral issues, special needs, and disabilities. I am the oldest of 3 and helped care for my 2 younger siblings growing up as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading to/with and creating stories with children. Playing pretend was one of my favorite things growing up and remains one of my favorite ways to help foster creativity. I love doing art projects and drawing with the kiddos! I also enjoy taking kiddos on walks and enjoying the outdoors instead of spending all our time on screens.

My experience with special needs children...

I've had the special opportunity to peer tutor high school students with special needs (my very favorite class in highschool) and I've gotten the opportunity to work with children with special needs, disabilities, and mental health issues in OTA field work and clinics. I also worked in a daycare where many of the children had behavioral issues.
