More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have had many occasional babysitting jobs, as well as doing sporadic volunteer work. I was also a camp counselor at a sleep-away camp for a month. I am currently a part-time nanny, looking for more occasional babysitting jobs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Board games, baking, coloring, painting, charades, any make-believe activity they enjoy or playing with action figures etc! Swimming, soccer, volleyball, catch, really anything! Each kid is different so finding the activities they love and making it even more fun is the goal.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure that kids can just be kids. It's very easy for children now to be swept up in electronics or things that don't allow them to just be happy carefree kids. I love being able to make them laugh and feel safe while doing the silly things they love without feeling the pressures they might be feeling while growing up.
My experience with special needs children...
Children with autism
The most important part about being a nanny...
While working as a camp counselor the girls and I had a "spa day" so all 4 of us counselors got to be treated by the 12 girls to many (knotty) hair braids, rainbow nails, and back massages that I think actually created more knots in my back then there was before. It was so much fun and the girls were giggling the whole time!
