My experience with special needs children...
In high school one of the classes I took, intro to teaching, we would work with the special needs kids at Central special (in Edgewater) and we also worked with the special needs kids in our high school every other week
The most important part about being a nanny...
This isn’t a “nanny” moment but at my internship I did fluency folders with them, basically the kids would read to me the best that they could and I would track their mistakes and when the timer ran out I would keep track of how far they could read to,
I called up one girl and she politely asked if she could stay in the room with me to talk during lunch
She did, which the stuff that she told me hit alittle too close to home for me
I never expected any of them to get close to me as some of them did
I would wake up not wanting to go to school but when it was a day I had that internship I got myself out of bed because I knew it made them happy the days I would come into class
