I love doing arts and crafts with the kids because it is peaceful yet exciting for them. It gives the kids a chance to wind down and talk about anything that's been on their mind while also doing something they enjoy.

The most important part about being a nanny is making a positive impact, however small, on a child's life. The most important trait of a nanny may depend on the child one cares for, but in my experience, a strong sense of empathy and a sturdy portion of patience is never waisted on any child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite thing is when the kids run up to me, just as excited to see me as I am to see them! A specific nanny moment that makes me proud is a time one of the kids I watch was visibly upset but being selectively mute and I was able to help her open up about what was wrong. I was so happy to help get her through those moments; it was healing to be the person for her that I wished had been there for me when I was her age. It was surreal to see myself on the other side of the equation.
