A little bit about me

I am nineteen and love Jesus, books, children, long walks, and coffee. I have four younger siblings and have done much volunteer work with children, from helping with children's programs at the Havelock public library to the children's ministry at church and doing nursery.

Currently I'm a junior in college, studying psychology through Liberty University with goals of being a Christian counselor or therapist for children. I am beginning an afternoon job at the Boys and Girls Club in Havelock and am looking for a small part time job on the side.

Playing outside, talking, going on walks, playing with pets, reading books, or pretty much whatever they like doing!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of caring for children is the investment you make in them. The way we treat children and talk to them becomes the way they think of and talk to themselves. Even a babysitter has a part in that, and it's important to foster their thoughts, emotions, and ideas well and treat them as important, because they are.

My experience with special needs children...

I have spent time with my friend's three-year old autistic son, playing, talking, and caring for him while she runs errands

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite moment would be a time that I took my two younger cousins, around ages 4 and 8 at the time, to Target for fun. In the checkout line, I turned beside me, and my 4 year old cousin was eating candy she pulled off the shelf! To her, if it was on her level, it was up for grabs. It was hilarious, but I bought the candy and explained that we have to buy the candy at the store. It's a funny story to look back on.
