Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Creating fun and interactive games that stimulate the child’s’ ability to be creative such as charades (where we write down different animals on paper and pull one from a bowl and try to act it out), Simon says, or even sitting down with the child/children and teaching them at least one new word or fact per babysitting session. I love helping kids do their homework and helping them learn the material and create ways to sustain their knowledge of it. Another thing I like to do is take them on walks to have some fresh air and for them to appreciate nature and gain some daily exercise . One game I like to play on walks to distract from occasional disinterest is eye spy. For the older kids, I try to take part in whatever they’re most interested in doing/what is allowed in the house. For example, many young tweens love Roblox, board games, puzzles, sports, etc.. and I always try to make sure fun and connection is built while remaining in the boundaries of what is safe and preferred by you.
