A little bit about me

Hi everyone! My name is Stefanie, and I've loved kids and taking care of them since I can remember. My high school had academies and mine was future teachers and while I was never the one who got 90's and 100's in math or science, my child development, English, teaching, and life cycles classes were always in the 100's. It's my passion. Unfortunately to become a teacher is a long road, and I have a current job in the medical field where I have learned a lot about myself and my interests. I thoroughly love English, science, reading, writing, I'm very creative and make flyers/menus for businesses in my free time, I love dogs more than anything and I love kids even more than that. I live with my boyfriend and his 5 younger siblings right now and take care of them every day, I meal prep for the day before work and print out homemade worksheets for them to do while I'm gone and then help with homework when I come home. I am responsible, kind, and up for any task!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered to be a part time teaching assistant in high school as an internship opportunity for 4th graders, and they all loved me (not to toot my own horn but toot toot!). I cared for a family friend's younger siblings when they were between work and school for them for 2 years, I cared for my sister in law's 9 year old son while she was at work and did his laundry, prepped his meals, helped with homework, etc. I have experience in households with large dogs and parrots that seem to never have a single quiet or dull moment, I also have experience in households of single parents who work all day everyday and just need a little extra help.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to make creative worksheets for kids. I do digital marketing/design as a small side hustle, as well as make my own jewelry. One of my favorite things is to involve kids in things I like to do to make them feel like they get to try something new. When they struggle with a school subject, I make my own fun interactive quizzes for them to learn without the pressure. I love to take them on walks, show them cool tv shows, and even try to learn new dances I've seen online or otherwise. I recently got a do it yourself drawing book for one of my boyfriends younger sisters, and one of my favorite things to do after work has been to just sit down with her and show her how easy it can really be to draw a tree, a cat, or anything like that!
