Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered in the nursery at my church with kids 2-5 for about 5 years, and worked with kids ages 4-12 while in high school.
I also have experience babysitting for friends and family.
Currently I work as a Preschool Teacher with infants-5 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When working with children, for the most part I enjoy doing anything that the kids will have fun with and learn the most.
I love to do crafts, read stories, work on puzzles, play with them outside, and teach them about various things. For example, with 1-3 year olds working on colors, letters, and numbers. With 4-6 year olds working on reading and basic math skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is working with parents to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children based on the needs of each child.
It means following the parent's instructions for how they need their child cared for, as well as getting to know the child for who they are as well. Reinforcing rules laid out by the parents, while also making things fun and engaging.
Every child deserves a safe and loving environment where they are free to be who they are and learn and grow, but they also need structure. Helping to support parents in this way is one of the greatest privileges anyone could have.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was probably when working at a preschool in my 2s turning 3s class. I was reading the kids a book about a trip to the moon called "Roaring Rockets." I tried to make the story a bit more engaging for them by playing along as though we were going to the moon as a class. So we put on our space suits and pretended to collect moon rock samples. As I read the story more times the kids would add various things to our trip, such as gloves to protect our hands, or choosing someone to be the driver, and they would "read along" with me because they memorized all the words.
Just being able to see their excitement and watching their creativity grow brings me so much joy!
