I've been working in the care industry for 18 years, in childcare for 16 years, and with special needs children for 10 years. I am a mother of 3; a 15 year old girl, a 10 year old boy, and a 2 year old girl.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I pick up on the children's interests and tailor the day towards those. I enjoy spending time outside with children, and quiet indoors activities as well. We might also enjoy doing new activities I find on different platforms (Facebook, Google search, Teachers-Pay-Teachers, etc.)

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked in homes with a variety of ages and abilities, some requiring me to adapt to different needs in the same home.
I have worked with a family with multiple special needs children, with the oldest being 18 years old, nonverbal, and requiring a heavy need for care and observation for medical emergencies.
I have experience in a home with a 10 year old who has special needs and requires a care provider.
I have also cared for elderly patients who remained connected to an oxygen tank. We would monitor their medication and oxygen levels, adjusting equipment as needed.
I have experience working personally with autistic teens and helping them to navigate the variety of challenges they face.
I have lead in establishing care plans and emergency plans for a variety of individuals and age groups. I’ve completed several hours of in-depth training; preschool and basic elementary lesson planning, comprehensive childcare for ages 0-10, and behavior management.
