I am a Mom and Grandma and have had a home daycare (when my own children were young). I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant by profession and also have an AA in Early Childhood Education. I have a passion for children and miss working with them in the schools.(I was an OTA in the schools for 7 years). I guess I should have said this first - I am a Christian and take my faith seriously. I don’t drink or smoke and try to live in obedience to God’s word (the Bible).

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught preschool and kindergarten for 4 years before having my own children. At that time I started a home daycare/preschool to be able to stay at home with my children. When my daughter was 10 I went back to school to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and have 20+ years experience in the field of Occupational Therapy with 7 years being in the schools.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

playing games, singing songs, reading books, talking, cooking with them - if they are old enough, teaching them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching the children grow and learn - each child is so different and has so much to offer. I learn from them as I am with them - about life and love. Oh, I also have two adopted children who I raised from ages 6 months and 2 1/2 years . They are 22 and 20 years old now.

My experience with special needs children...

I love working with special needs children! I have worked with varying diagnoses of special needs including those on the autism spectrum, sensory disorders, Downs Syndrome, CP, learning disorders, developmental delays and various syndromes.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have not been a nanny, but have babysat and spent lots of days and weekends with my own grandchildren. The hugs that I receive and pictures they draw for me are very special. I also teach piano to my granddaughters and play piano. The other day my granddaughters gave me bouquets of flowers they had made with flowers in their garden and said I am the best piano teacher ever!! I also love being silly with the kids and pretending and encouraging them to dance and move any way they are able.
