A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Susanna. I am 22 years old and I have 8 years of child care experience. People describe me as sweet, caring, and optimistic. It is my passion to take care of people, especially children. My first child care opportunities started when I was 14 and I was a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Leader taking care of 15+ children at a time. I worked at my local YMCA as a Nursery Teacher for three years, teaching approximately seven 3-5 year-old children art and gym class. My last official Nannying experience was as a part-time Nanny for a family friend and their 2 year old son. All throughout this time, I have babysat for over 10 families with kids of all ages, and several with disabilities. I have also held full time work as a waitress. I hope to hear from you soon!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a volunteer for M.O.P.S.(Mothers Of Preschoolers), and was also an assistant preschool teacher at my local YMCA.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Although I love doing all kinds of activities with children and am very open minded and willing to fit any familie's needs, I have gathered much experience from my time at the YMCA as a Nursery Teacher. Some of the activities that I would teach the children are how to finger paint, play with clay, and numerous children's games that I would plan. The activities that we would do had a focus on body awareness and developing creativity all while having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to make sure the kids and host family feel comfortable.

My experience with special needs children...

Since I have started working with children, I have had the privilege to work with several who have special needs. The most experience that I have is with my two nephews, both of whom have cognitive development impeding heart conditions which would require me to give them medication three times a day. Additionally, I have taken care of children with Down Syndrome, Fragile X, ADHD, and many more.
