Hi y’all, I’m Suzanna. I’ve always had a love for helping others. My soft spot has been geriatrics & pediatrics, I worked in memory care prior to going to school. I earned my AAOT, with a focus in Early Childhood Education, Preschool certificate & am currently working on my BS in Early Childhood Studies concentrated in Early Intervention/Special Education from WOU. My end goal is to become a Pediatric Speech Pathologist! I enjoy spending time with and engaging tiny humans.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently work at my community college Child Development Center, which is 2.5-4.5 year olds. I’ve also worked in another Day Care/Preschool with infants-5 year olds and occasional school age children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am an advocate for a constructivist style pedagogy. I believe children learn best through hands on experience! I enjoy creating sustainable activities for children, with respect to their autonomy. This allows them to observe, explore and experiment with the activity as they prefer, whether it’s how I intended it to be, or not. This type of teaching/learning supports independence, boosts confidence, self esteem and overall development and engagement, as they are in control. I have an array of activities under my belt and I am consistently learning more, everyday.

The most important part about being a nanny to me is building relationships and impacting the development of tiny humans, while supporting them and their families.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working in inclusive classrooms and will be starting my senior year at WOU, working towards my Bachelors in Early Childhood Studies with a concentration in Early Intervention & Special Education, come Fall.
