A little bit about me

Hey there! My name is Sydnee and I love working/ teaching/ creating with little ones of all ages. I have a little brother who is now 12 and I have been watching him ever since he was a newborn. I also have 3 step siblings that I have known since they were newborns and have watched and cared for them as well, they are 13, 11, and 7. I’m 26 and married to my high school sweetheart who is stationed on fort drum, I’ve been an housewife for most of my marriage while I went to college full time, I have an associates in early childhood education. I worked full time at a daycare after high school but I was still at an age that I didn’t know what I wanted to do so I worked in restaurants up until I got married and continued to babysit my siblings and got paid doing that pretty well. I believe that children should be able to thrive in an environment that is comfortable to them while it also nurtures their development, I would love to have the privilege to care for your little one/ones!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Teacher at rosey’s romper room in my hometown of canton, MI and also was very good with the children that came in to my other job at Mashike Chiropractic Wellness Center when the kiddos didn’t want to get adjusted, I was the main person to distract and play with them while their moms and dads got X-rays or adjusted, things like that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making it fun for the little ones while mom and dad are gone. It can be hard to adjust to that sometimes so I try to make it as fun as I can for them while also coming up with fun activities that nurture and grow their cognitive, physical, language, and emotional development. Also understanding that everything is new to them, being placed in the care of someone that they don’t know can be a big adjustment change for children; some kids handle it harder than other but I am here to make sure that they are cared for in any need that must be met for them.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a teachers assistant in high school for special needs kids but most importantly I have a 12 year old brother that has special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I took my little brother to the park to play on the splash pad, he thought because it was summer that the water would be warm. He ran under the water and it was ice cold, as soon as the water went down his back his lips turned blue and he ran to me crying. We didn’t go back on the splash pad, we went to the actual park instead that day.
