A little bit about me

Reliable, detail-oriented, loving self-starter with ten years of experience in child care, two years in post partum support, and one year in homeschooling. I am passionate about conscious child care, weaving both Montessori and Waldorf techniques into our everyday lives to not only support the children academically, but as a whole. I love to find ways to integrate meaningful activities and lessons into our everyday life. I am a very intuitive care taker, childcare has always come naturally to me. With my bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology, I believe I have a very broad and adaptable view to bring to any position that comes my way!

I also have experience as a post partum support doula, so I am well versed in helping out families outside of childcare as well. This has made me extremely adaptable in providing families with whatever support they need!

I was also a 3rd grade homeschool teacher for a year.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Hiking, crafts, adventures (such as spider hunting or whatever the children show interest in), playing games, teaching them songs to sing, crafts, cooking, reading, writing. Really anything creative or active! I love to follow the child's lead in whatever they are interested in!

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, we hold such important roles for the children and families we work for. The way we react and handle different situations in our everyday lives make bigger impacts on them than we could even imagine. Its important that we are conscious of this, for we are shaping their minds, their nervous systems and their overall being. There is nothing more rewarding than practicing patient and conscious child care and after being persistent with that, being able to see the results.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Wow, there are many. But the most recent was with the 2 year old that I nanny. Everyday when he wakes up from his nap, I sing him this one song so that he wakes up gently and feels he has my full attention. I did this for months with no true response. Until one day he looked at me and requested I sing it to him "CC sing fire deep song". It was such a sweet moment for me!
