"Tabbi watched my older kids a few times before 2013 when my daughter was born (by then my son was 10 and step daughter was 8), but really started working for us regularly when the baby was just a few weeks old. She was very attentive and careful with her as a newborn and they formed an amazing bond! I always felt that the kids were safe and well taken care of. Tabbi always had a craft or activity planned that both the little one and the big kids could do. We have pictures and Christmas ornaments, etc that they made together. She even made flashcards for my daughter when she was getting ready to start school!
As the kids got older and the big ones didn't really need "watching", she still would include them on the fun, if they were interested.
Tabbi moved away from us at the end of 2020 when my daughter was 7, but she has still kept in touch over messenger kids and taken her on an adventure when she's come home to visit family. She really loves my daughter like she was her own!"

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a daycare when I was 18, I was in the infant room. I have watched a girl from the time she was 2 weeks old until she was 10 years old. I still have contact with this family and when I go back to town I always make sure to visit her and her wonderful family. I watched a 15 year old with special needs as well as her brother.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing crafts for holidays as well as learning crafts. I love making learning fun as in my experience they seem to have more fun in the learning time I set up. I will be happy to play in the sprinkler weather permitting. I have many different ways to help with school work if needed, I will try other ways of explaining or showing them different ways to pick up on things when needed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny or babysitter is watching the children grow and learn new things they will use for the rest of their lives. For example the alphabet or numbers, math, how to talk, these are all the best part seeing them grow and learn. As well as keeping the parents at ease with knowing their children are in safe hands.
My experience with special needs children...
She was 15 years old and had special needs. She loved to read books and she was nonverbal so we worked together with some sign language to figure out what she needed or wanted.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most memorable thing I can think of is when you work for a family for a long time, you not only get to know the child or children but you get to be apart of a family. I worked for a family from the time the child was 2 weeks old until I moved from Idaho to move to North Carolina in 2020. She was born in 2013. I got to have this great relationship with the family and the child. With being with a family for so long it makes it worth it when she still calls me to tell me any new and exciting things to go on in her life. I love it! I couldn’t have asked for a more rewarding career!
